5 Steps to Healthy Hair in just 1 Month

We've all been there - spending more time styling than we do caring for our hair.

Soon enough we see the results of our neglect with tangles, split ends and frizzy hair.

Get softer, healthier hair in less than 1 month

You can change your hair.  You CAN have soft, silky hair.

By stepping up your hair routine you'll see that it's possible to have the hair you've always wanted.

Step 1: Be Healthy (get gorgeous hair from the inside out)

We're genetically programmed to be attracted to someone with healthy hair because your hair reflects your health.

So make healthy choices.  Drink more water, eat your veggies and quit smoking.

Step 2: Stop Shampooing

Of course you don't want oil slicked hair, but take it easy on the shampoo.

On average 2 - 4 days between washing is great.

Step 3: ABC - Always Be Conditioning

Condition. Condition. Condition.  I can't say it enough.

Condition your hair every time you wash and apply a deep conditioning mask every few washes.

Step 4: Never Brush Wet Hair

Your hair is the most fragile when wet.

Wait until its at least 50% dry before brushing.

Step 5: Cool it on the chemicals

I'm sure you have heard of the "chemical hair cut".  If not, this is when your hair breaks off due to over processing.

Avoid this by going natural when possible.

#1  Color hair naturally.

#2 Try a wet wash.  To freshen your hair, wash using warm water then condition the ends with olive oil.

#3 Use natural conditioners.  There are so many great treatments you can whip up in your kitchen which work wonders.

Work these 5 steps into your routine and you will LOVE your hair.

By then end of a month you'll have softer, shinier hair and you'll save both time and money.

Pastel Pink Highlights

 Pretty Pastel Highlights

So, I have dedicated this entire blog post today to pastel pink highlights. As I am sure you've noticed, these are HUGE in the hair world right now. Fashion editorials, runways, celebrities and beauty bloggers alike are crazy about this fresh shade of pink. One major problem? Its super hard to achieve.

Patel pink highlights are usually achieved by bleaching the hair first to a pale blonde. It then requires the perfect mix of orange, muted pinks and purples to create the gorgeous pastel highlight. But for those of us with delicate hair, dark hair, or on a budget, it's not feasible to go to the salon to have these added to your hair.  I have tried the hair chalking thing, and unfortunately, it didn't work on my dark hair, but it did do a swell job of rubbing off on my sweater :(.

This is exactly why we created our rose pink highlight hair extensions! We wanted to make it easy to change up your hair color and add this amazing shade of pink! It took quite some time and lots of test runs for us to get this perfectly muted shade. Best part about these? They won't fade! Second best part? You won't damage your hair!

If your a little adventurous, seeking a change this season, try out our gorgeous rose highlights. The perfect shade of pastel pink highlights are just a click away! (Check out our photos here!)

DIY Hair Mask for Smooth, Silky Hair

There is nothing worse than dry, dead, brittle hair. But sometimes its unavoidable. We all love to straighten, blow dry and curl our hair, but often these heat tools leave us with frizzy or dry hair that isn’t so cute. If you bleach or color your hair regularly, you should definitely be applying a moisturizing mask at least once a week!

Here is my favorite hair mask, that is sooo easy to make using your kitchen ingredients!

What You Need:

1 Avocado

1 Egg

1/4 Olive Oil

2-3 Tbsp Mayonnaise

1 tbsp honey (optional)

Directions:

1. Mix all of your ingredients in a blender until smooth.
2. Starting on the ends of your hair begin massaging the mask into you hair and work your way up towards your scalp
(* If you typically have oily or fine hair, I suggest stopping about 4 inches from your scalp)
3. Leave on for 15 - 20 minutes
4. Rinse with warm water. Shampoo & Condition as normal

I recommend doing this once a week, it worked so well for me and really made a difference on the texture of my hair! You can even use this treatment on those pretty Style Strands highlight hair extensions you bought :)

Try it out, and let me know how it goes!
