TREND WATCH: Pastel Hair Colors
post
Posted June 26, 2012Bright hair colors are nothing new. Although they are now gaining popularity at rapid speeds, color technicians have been adding bright red or pink highlights to their clients hair for years. However, as everything in life seems to, this trend has changed and adapted with time. Right now, hair stylists have seen a large increase in dip-dye requests and pastel hair colors.
I love pastels and always have, whether its a dress or a bracelet, I have a weakness for bright, yet soft pastel shades (my favorites are mint green and lavender purple). I had seen pastel hair colors in high-fashion runway shows here and there the past year, but never really pictured myself incorporating those hair colors in my everyday look. That is, until I saw this gorgeous pictures or Lauren Conrad, hair and beauty guru, with pretty peach hair.

Now, I have seen the pastel shades on many celebs including Demi Lovato and Dakota Fanning in their pastel pink dip-dyed locks.

I'm sure you can agree, these women all look amazing but you might have some hesitations about adding pastel shades to your hair.
I'll have to bleach my hair and I don't want to damage it
Will my boss get mad? Can I have pink hair at work?
Is it expensive to get them done at the salon?
I don't want them to fade after only a couple washes
Will the color come off on my pillow and clothes
Sound familiar?
These concerns are completely valid, and come up whenever dying your hair a bright color. I had these concerns myself and is the reason we had our favorite pastel shades made into easy-to-apply hair extension highlights. You can forget about all those nagging hair color worries and add gorgeous highlights that will not fade or wash out. And if your work isn't as fun and fashion forward as you, you can easily remove and reapply on the weekend and let your glam self shine! You can save yourself both time and money, while getting long lasting pastel highlights.
Here are a few of my fav looks that inspired us and the Style Strands line of pastel colors.

Which color is your favorite? Is there a color you've been dreaming of? Love to hear your thoughts! <3
